Each appointment brings together \\n <span class=\\\"_BigItalic\\\">2<\/span> different architecture exhibition producers or critics \\n and invites them to engage in a moderated dialogue about <span class=\\\"_BigItalic\\\">5<\/span> \\n proposed topics.\\n <\/div>\\n <div class=\\\"moveable\\\"><\/div>\\n <div class=\\\"columns\\\">\\n <div class=\\\"_SmallRegular column-1\\\">\\n <span class=\\\"s1\\\">In his seminal essay, <span class=\\\"_SmallItalic\\\">\u201cThe Work of Art in the \\n Age of Mechanical Reproduction\u201d<\/span>, Walter Benjamin observes a tension between new \\n modes of perception and the aura that arises from the work of art due to its \\n reproducibility. Following Benjamin\u2019s diagnosis, and given the recent explosion \\n of architecture exhibitions, could we look at the work of architecture under new \\n conditions of production and public presentation? As stated by L\u00e9a-Catherine Szacka, \\n <span class=\\\"_SmallItalic\\\">\u00abIf exhibitions were once only a reference to something else, \\n the exhibition is now the referent, whose traces become more important than the event \\n itself\u00bb<\/span>. Taking these elements as a starting point, this research aims to \\n investigate the work of architecture in the age of display. Due to its nature and \\n dimensions, buildings cannot be contained in the show and the act of exhibiting is often \\n connected with the absence of the very object of the addressed matter. But this is true \\n only if we aim to reduce the exhibition of architecture to the presentation (or \\n representation) of built realm. What is exhibited in an architecture show is definitely \\n worth of examination since the contents range from architecture (buildings) per se to \\n issues which are relevant for it. The production of space in the context of the \\n exhibition has always been connected to experimentation and it is acknowledged that \\n the context of \\n <\/span>\\n <\/div>\\n <div class=\\\"_SmallRegular column-2\\\">\\n <span class=\\\"s1\\\">temporary exhibitions is punctuated by <span class=\\\"_SmallItalic\\\">\u00abthe \\n most extreme and influential proposals\u00bb<\/span> in the history of architecture, as \\n Beatriz Colomina\u00a0pointed out. All this to say that the research interest on architecture \\n exhibitions, although established and consolidated, is still lively and continues offering \\n issues worth being deeply examined. Beyond mere display, the architecture exhibition is \\n a <span class=\\\"_SmallItalic\\\">thing<\/span> in itself: it is presentation and knowledge \\n production as much as it is representation of something that lies \\n <span class=\\\"_SmallItalic\\\">outside<\/span> of the exhibition space. His work focuses on museography \\n with a peculiar attention to the practices of exhibiting architecture. Before joining \\n the Free University of Bozen Bolzano he was researcher at the TU Darmstadt. M.Arch in Advanced Architectural Design at ETSA Madrid and Ph.D in Architecture and Building Design at Politecnico di Torino, he is currently Research Fellow at the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, as well as adjunct professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Innsbruck.
